A world gone mad?
Most of it is extremely positive and empowering.
Thanks!
But all it takes sometimes is one or two well placed comments to put me on an emotional rollercoaster...that takes days to right itself.
Recently someone suggested that they liked the old, conservative and serious Michelle. And they didn't think that my "Body building figure" was an appropriate image for a woman who is a community role model for young women.
ARRRGGGH!
To protect this person (a complete stranger to me) I won't go into particulars.
But I must say their email hit me like a sledge hammer to the six pack.
What? Here I have worked hard for over three years to get in the best shape of my life. My Doctor says I am the healthiest I have ever been and I must say I couldn't be happier.
Life just keeps getting better and better thanks to BFL..and someone out of the blue refers to me as a "Hooter" girl...trying to "steal" husbands.
I try to understand people who send these type of messages, try to figure out where they are coming from and respect their right to express their opinions. This is America after all!
But---Frankly I cannot figure out why people are so uptight when they see a woman in their fifties, with a few well toned muscles and good posture.
Have we gotten so out of shape...that the sight of a healthy individual becomes what some might consider "obscene?"
Let me point out, I am happily married, I do not steal husbands, I do not wear low cut clothing...and my only tight shirts are reserved for the weight lifting room...to prevent getting caught in the machinery.
My rollercoaster has been righted--thanks for letting me blow off some steam.

Michelle, you are a striking, beautiful woman!
Not for your age or your body type or any of that nonesense...just straight-forward striking!
Your attitude is wonderful and your dedication is inspirational.
All that really matters is that you're happy and your hubby is happy for you and celebrates with you.
Keep doing what you're doing!!
That is total BS....you are amazing and I hope I look like you when I am in my 50's!!!
=)
Sounds like someone has a case of the "I'm jealous because you've done it not talked about it" disease. Anyway, how many 50-something year olds can say they been called a "Hooter's girl". You go girl!
Good luck at your competition!
