I'm at an age when many women believe their best years are behind them. I hope to convince my "Sisters" that many more of those "best years" are waitng to be lived! I'm living proof it is never to late to live them. Not to long ago I weighed nearly 200 pounds and was being treated for a long list of obesity related medical problems. Thankfully there came a point in my life when I decided to keep my self promises. When I did...my life opened to a world of possibilities.

It's now or never!

I saw my primary Doctor this week... the first time since I got serious about changing my lifestyle. It felt mighty good when he congratulated me on my transformation.
As we were talking he said something interested.

"When it comes to health, the fifties are often the crossroads for many
people....most realize it' now or never to make positive changes.
Those who do make the necessary changes and build positive habits can reclaim health. Those who continue to put it off...continue a spiral into poor health
and ultimately serious illness and death."

If you are now at that crossroads, I urge you to take an inventory of your current health. Find a supportive medical expert. Yes, I am afraid that means setting up that annual medical check up you have been putting off from years....

--learn your numbers. Blood sugar, Blood pressure, bad cholesterol, you weight and the weight you should be. Take appropriate action to bring those numbers into a positive rage.

--get active. Hey even if it means parking the car a block away and walking. Or taking the stairs instead of the elevator. Most experts now agree that just three 10 minute bursts of activity a day can dramatically improve you health.

--start cutting back on those sugary treats and add some veggies. Drink more water.

The bottom line....if you are at the crossroads and choose a healthier life...you really can start by taking baby steps toward health. As you grow fitter you will grow happier with yourself--and as your resolve grows...those baby steps will become giant steps.

Trust in the power of self!

Life is to precious to let it slip away without a good fight.
