I'm at an age when many women believe their best years are behind them. I hope to convince my "Sisters" that many more of those "best years" are waitng to be lived! I'm living proof it is never to late to live them. Not to long ago I weighed nearly 200 pounds and was being treated for a long list of obesity related medical problems. Thankfully there came a point in my life when I decided to keep my self promises. When I did...my life opened to a world of possibilities.

Body for Life is making the news again!

I picked up the latest issue of Woman's World Magazine and was thrilled to read about several of our BFL Buddies.
Maria Ramos, Hollee Haas and Pamela Hickerson are the focus of a two page, color spread on "Heal your broken metabolism."

-Maria lost just one pound but went from a size 11 to a size 3.
-Hollee lost six inches!
-Pam went from a size 12 to a size 6.

All three found success when they decided to make lifestyle changes the Body for Life way.

Woman's World is a weekly magazine and can be found at most larger grocery stores. The particular issue is the July 26th, 2005 issue which went on the newsstands this past Monday.

If you find yourself standing at the grocery checkout this weekend and find it...turn to page 16 and check out how beautiful and radiant these women are.
I cannot think of anyone better to represent a program that is changing the world, one person at a time...one nutritious meal at a time...one workout at a time!

Body for Life works, if you work the program!
Have a wonderful weekend.
Your BFL Bud,
Michelle

Trying something a little different....

I have thrown out my scale.
Well, I have actually moved it out of the house and now vow not to weigh myself but once a month.
This is a big step for me, a really big step.
For two years I have been reading the advice on the Body for Life website guestbook. So many folks have said, "throw out the scale. The scale lies....its all about muscle building and body fat percentages."

OK I am finally getting the message.
From this day forward I will guage my success by how I feel. How I look in the mirrow and most importantly how my new, smaller clothes fit.

I feel much calmer already!

Confession. I have been a slave to the scale, ever since I was a little girl and would jump on my Grandpa's old balance feed scale in the barn.
The scale has really ruled my life. Each day I had allowed it how to tell me how I should feel. UP a pound...feel pretty bad.
Down a pound. Feel like a million bucks.
How on earth did I allow a little machine to control my thought process?

No more. I am breaking free!
I'll keep you posted on this leap of faith in the weeks and months to come.

Now the question of the day.
Have you tied your feelings to a piece of cold, metal machinery? If you broke that pattern what were your results and are you happy you did?

Thanks.
Your BFL Bud,
Michelle

Looking for inspiration?

Read BFL Champion, Kelly A.s blog today on the EAS/Body for Life website. I am so glad I did. She talks about how to dig yourself out of a rut. It is exactly what I needed to read today! Also I got an email from EAS today, reminding me about the week by week challenge advice found on the Body for Life Website. If you havent reviewed that information...I urge you to take a look. It is found under the challenge link. It is a great blue print to follow each week of your 12 week challenge.Another exercise today---under the same link you will find a drawing with the outlines of a man and woman...signifying the 2005 tenth anniversary champions. The drawing marks the spot for this years upcoming announcement for winners of the million dollar transformation challenge.Take a look at that drawing. Imagine your picture popping up there in a few months. Imagine Porter, Mark and Shane coming to your door to hand you that check! Consider what you need to do to make that happen. And then do what it takes to hit your tens for the rest of your current challenge.Work hard. I know you can do it...there is a winner in each and every one of us!You cant win though unless you put in the work...but mental and physical. You cant win if you dont mail in that entry form. Do it for yourself. You are worth this investment!Have a great BFL Day.Your buddy,Michelle

Live it!

I have always been one to worry about the future. Those worries have resulted in a lot of planning, hoping and dreaming of how things will be when our son goes off to college, when we get our bills paid off, when we retire....believe me the list goes on and on!

For years I have been so tied up in the future that I often fail to enjoy today.

Living in the here and now isn't easy. It takes practice.
Since adopting the Body for Life lifestyle...each day I try to seize the moment to enjoy the beauty that presents itself. It maybe something as simple as looking into the eyes of a new born baby...or taking a moment to admire the beautiful flowers that someone toiled to plant. On occasion I'll find a field to kick back and watch the clouds float by and marvel at the glory of this world we live in.

The one thing I now know for certain...none of us is garunteed the future. We have today...maybe we'll have tommorrow. Now that doesn't mean we shouldn't plan. I continue to put away money in my 4o1 K...and dream of retiring to a warm and sunny place. I pay the bills and get my teeth cleaned so that I will have them when I am old.
But now I also focus just as keenly on today!

How do you plan to enjoy today?
